I will lead our (usually annual) Father's day run this year up Barbour Fork Trail. It is a 6.4 mile long loop trail, the trailhead is close to town, just south of Idaho Springs. This is a fairly easy trail that any stock Toyota 4x4 should be able to do. I contacted Clear Creek Ranger District and the seasonal gate is supposed to open on June 15th.
We will meet at the El Rancho McDonald's at 8:30AM and depart for the trailhead by 9:00AM. Bring lunch, bring warm clothing, bring your kids, bring you dad. Since the gate is only going to open a few days before our run I won't have time to prerun it, but in years past snow hasn't been a huge issue. The top of the loop is pretty close to Colo 103, not quite timberline, however is is north facing and shaded so there may still be some snow.
