I have been pondering the reality lately that FJ40's are becoming scarcer and scarcer on the trails and thought maybe I would throw out the idea of a 40's Only Run. It's always fun to wheel with a bunch of cruisers similar in vintage, and as much as I admire newer cruisers, I think an old school run might be something Rising Sun could pull off since there are actually quite a few members who have 40's and are willing to wheel them (including a few who are also lucky enough to sport a 55/60/70/80/100 in the fleet).

So what do you think? Wouldn't it be fun to have a gang of 40's on the trail?

Post your thoughts for trails and dates, I'm willing to pre-run it and lead it. :thumb:  :hill:

Yes yes!! I've been thinking the same thing.. and if you don't have a 40 that's ok, just meet at the meeting place then hop in with someone

I guess it depends on the 40s involved, but I've always like Kingston Peak for a run, especially when it ends at a  in Idaho Springs. But I'm up for just about anything.. put it together!

I'd be in for a close run...I'm a wuss :)

Like to actually get the 40 out on a trail but I'd have to get a hall pass since mine is only a 2 seater right now

I'll bring out the 64... Retro day would be fun. I'd say something easy.. so all the stock 40/45 posers can attend :)

Cool, sounds like there is definitely some interest. :thumb: Kingston Peak is a good suggestion. Pretty easy but scenic and close by. Could be a good one for stock 40's. Any other trail recommendations?

Looks like possible weekend dates that don't conflict with other runs/events will be:

Sunday July 15
Saturday July 28
Sunday July 29
Saturday August 4
Sunday August 5
Saturday August 25
Sunday August 26

Maybe we should do a poll?

Saturday July 28 - parents in town
Sunday July 29- parents in town
Saturday August 4 - tennis playoffs
Sunday August 5 - tennis playoffs
Saturday August 25 - works best for me, gives me time to get the 40 running
Sunday August 26 - ditto

Literally the only date on the above list that would work for me would be Saturday, August 25.

What about September? It's still way nice in Colorado in September, and my weekends will be wide open. The summer is super busy for everyone. Then everything drops off when the school year starts again (for those of us with kids).

After Labor Day weekend, I have every weekend free for the rest of the month. :)
