Still planning on attending, but last time I tried going in 4WD the lever came off in my hand. Hoping to get that fixed tomorrow afternoon. In case I don't get it fixed, do you guys think I could do this trail in 2WD?
We'll miss ya Steve, but I'm glad Dan will slip into your spot. And Kurt too Maybe next year Jeff?
Keith - Not sure what to tell you. There are some loose, steep sections that will probably give you trouble in 2wd. And the descent into St Mary's is pretty steep and the Lo range will do you a lot of good. Are you saying the entire lever came up through the tranny tunnel and into your hand? Fix that **** and be up there!
I'm going to try and be up at the Rollinsville intersection around 8:30, and we will try to roll around 9:00ish. If the group is large, we will probably air down at the meet up spot and then drive slowly along the road until the trail turnoff. I have a mobile HAM unit in my 40 and will be on the 146.460 (KDØFQQ). I don't have a CB, but I'm sure some will.
I wish I could join you this year, but my daughter now has a job and with I-25 being closed and the distances involved, I will have to pass. I wish you all the best FJ40 trail running!
Got the 4WD fixed... But not gonna make it. 4 weeks till we get married and still lots to do. Might be able to secure a hall pass for the day after the rally and will try and take the 40 on one of those runs.
DAMMIT! Had this on my calendar for next weekend...Saw Tree Roots post on the Face Book page to realize I'm an idjit, and got the wrong date. One of my favorite runs the club does...I'm kicking myself!!
