Greetings once again! This thread is to log the hours that Rising Sun spends on trails in 2019.
Hours to be logged for the 2019 year must occur between October 1, 2018 through Sept 30th, 2019.
From last year's thread:
This information is valuable not just to us, but to the branches of government that manage our public lands. It shows that we maintain a presence outside of the forum and follow through with our verbal commitment to use, respect, and maintain public access lands. Our hours submitted the COA4WDCi, BLM, and NFS indicate this commitment and our tracks left behind indicate our use and passion- the most important defense to rely on in the event of an attempted trail closure or land seizure. Simply put, our documented use of trails is our best defense for keeping public access to the beauty that Colorado has to offer.

In continuing Travis's efforts, I'll quote is post from the original thread about trail hours:
Time spent on the trail DOES include time door-to-door apart from camping and eating inside establishments. This time is recorded as a donation, and your commute to the donation site (trail) is a valid contribution as well. I sincerely wish we could count hours spent sleeping or unconscious because that's what I think most politicians do but I've got other battles to fight. So sleeping doesn't count. :blah:

[...]

I'd like to request that trail leaders take note of the number of participants and log the hours spent. Please post the following on your trip report thread and/or in this thread:
Date:
Trails:
People:
Hours:

No amount of time is too small- logging every hour helps us, Colorado, and responsible 4WD access across the state.

Thanks for your efforts and Happy Trails!
2018 has shaped up to be a stellar year for logging trail hours. Keep your tires dirty and the shiny side up so you can keep logging the time spent enjoying Colorful Colorado.

Just in case you don't like reading first posts, this is for time spent on trails between October 1, 2018 and Sept 30, 2019.

Pickle Gulch (FSR 718.1)
Dakota Hill (FSR 412)
Dakota Hill Spur (FSR 412.2B)
Utah Hill (FSR 716.1)
Michigan Hill (713)

4.5 hours x 2 people = 9 hours total

Trails were in good condition, no trash, and I didn't see one other rig the entire time I was out (though, it was pretty cold and rainy/snowy). The steep hill climb with a bunch of loose rock/dirt on Pickle Gulch is pretty rutted, but I imagine the winter snowfall/snowpack might help with that. Almost needed to winch at the very top of the hill, but ATRAC got me up and out after a few tries.

I'm clearly obsessed with this trail network, since it's only a 40 minute drive from my house. :D

Pretty much all the snow from last week's storm has melted. Muddy in spots but mostly dusty. :)

Thanks everyone.

Just a reminder: If you are listing a forest service road or a county road that is not a common trail name, please list the county, forest, or nearby town. This helps with allocating hours to the correct county or forest.

Not sure which county or forest? A nearby landmark, town, or intersection will help!
