That would be ideal. Do you have one that fits the bolt pattern on a 40? :D

Martin-

FJ40 has a common bolt patter to most pintels. Head to the farm store if you haven't already bought one.

This would be a fun run for sure.

Meeting Place: Cemetery area half mile above (west) of Central City-the normal spot. Pizza at Beau Jo's Pizza after the run.

Date: Saturday Jan. 5th, 2008
Time: Meet at 9am or earlier and leave soon after 9:30am
CB Channel 4
Will will air down and chain up (if your using chains) at the meeting place.

Can someone remind where exactly the cemetery is :D

I'd hate to miss the run 'cuz I'm too inept to locate the cemetery...I searched online for an addy to Google and came up with nada...

easy to get to...when you turn to go to central city, just keep going straight.

you'll pass the casinos and get into a small neighborhood, go up a hill, past a new apartment complex and at the top of the hill there will be nothing but snow, 4x4s, a cemetary and more snow. :)

Glad I asked :hill:

For some reason I was thinking it was further down Hwy 119 past Blackhawk  - We use to go up there a lot years ago before the casinos showed up but not anymore. I'm guessing it might be quicker then to come over the parkway for people coming up from the south...

Is my circle in about the right spot? :D

Last year I got there first (which never happens), and just kept driving on Upper Apex Road. After 2 miles, I turned around and went back to the parking lot by the cemetery. It was so snowed over it was unrecognizable. It was a good thing JadeRunner had shown up by this time.

Ok, I just talked this over with Uncle Ben. As he stated the conditions on the traditional route that they took could improve, but unless we can confirm that, I don't suggest we take the whole group up that route. You can't really strap anyone in that deep sugar. Winches would be required.

The alternative route that they came back down on would be a better bet for the main group. Then we could continue up the main route, like most groups do. Which is typically accessed from York Gulch. We would then plan to return to Idaho Springs via York Gulch.

So if a few people (with winches) could head up early on either route and radio back that would be helpful. Otherwise I will take the main group up the alternative route and send a sub-group with winches up the traditional route.

I'm sure this sounds confusing to most people that are not familiar with the area, so here is a crude map to help. I will plan to be in the parking lot at 8:30 and also plan to air down low and not use chains to start with.

Scott, is that the road we took last year after we got turned away? There was a nice little play area towards the end.

Well by golly, I will be there. I prefer the Bald Mountain to Pisgah route. We might actually GET somewhere and get back in time for pizza!

No chains for Chili. Not sure how well they fit the wider wheels yet, and definitely unsure about clearances. They will *probably* work, but even last year I took out some metal in an unplanned body modification chain-based exercise.
