Meeting Place: Cemetery area half mile above (west) of Central City-the normal spot. Pizza at Beau Jo's Pizza after the run.

Date: Saturday Jan. 5th, 2008
Time: Meet at 9am or earlier and leave soon after 9:30am
CB Channel 4
Will will air down and chain up (if your using chains) at the meeting place.

Be prepared to be trudging through lots and lots of snow, especially when you exit your stuck rig to hook up a strap. Gater's, snow suits, gortex or whatever - just be prepared to stay warm and dry. It can be really cold and windy. Make sure you have at least one strap and tow points available front and rear.

We will meet at Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs for Pizza after the run. Around 4-5 pm. The club will buy pizza and pop.

I would like to make this run, but all I have for a recovery point on the back of my 40 is a tow ball... Anyone have a recommendation for something that can be added to replace that without having to modify the crossmember?

I should be able to make this! Now a good reason to get those chains!

That would be ideal. Do you have one that fits the bolt pattern on a 40? :D

Actually, I carry one of these

so I can yank the unprepared out of my way!

I would think you could figure a way to off set the holes in the hitch to fit the Cruiser pattern. Then again it's just an FJ-40 and considering the fact that tow points are more important than a lift or other accessories it seems that maybe a hole or two could be drilled if necessary so proper safety equipment could be installed!

Looks like $OR sells one that should work.

I, of course, only need it to pull others out of snowdrifts. :)

Just take the ball off and put a shackle through the bolt hole - if it'll fit.

Good suggestion, but a new pintle and some other toys are on their way from $OR. :D

Now I just need to see if my chains will fit these 34's...:thumb:

think my 60 with an ome lift and 33" with no lockers will do it? we were in 1-2' snow yesterday and it spun a lot with the chains untill they dug down a bit to the road beneath.

I'm gonna try! I might try the chainless 5psi approach this time. Crawl on the top. Mebbe.

If you get stuck, there will be 20 guys with straps there to yank you out. Getting stuck is half the fun.
