Where do you all get the correct matching paint for your rides - mine is the Moon Glow Pearl I believe. Where do I get that?

The paint code is on the sticker on the drivers side jamb. Any automotive paint shop can mix it with the Toyota code.

Just a warning even with paint codes Toyota paint is super hard to match for what ever reason. Even for the pros.

Last time I bought paint the shop had a color book with all the Toyota paint codes by year.

Especially difficult to match when dealing with metalflake paint which I think your color is.

Even if a brand new rookie mixes and we slap it on with a paint brush I'm sure it will still be better than what I've started with... believe me. Here is the driver's side label. I guess it's 1A6 - Moonglow Perl according to the Internet.

I get that. My hood is looking really bad. I pulled the liner from the inside when some mice decided to make it their home. Now the extra heat from the turbo has cooked the clear coat. I’ve considered getting a couple cans mixed up and spraying with the attitude it can’t look worse.

I'm trying to decide if I should remove the hood for the job and then re-install it after. I'm a little concerned that I won't be able to align it properly afterwards.

You can use an old body guys trick of drilling an 1/8" hole through the hinge into the bottom of the hood on each side. When you reinstall just use a small punch or nail to align the 1/8" holes tighten the bolts and bang the original alignment is kept. Just close the hood carefully the first time.

I used Pappy's Clear Coat on a Desert Dune 80 that was missing 50% of it's clear coat and it turned out better than I expected. Just a suggestion if you don't care about perfection.

Still not done done... but getting there. Perfection was not a goal, only improvement of the peeling clearcoat and faded paint. I believe both goals were achieved.
