Progress. The great cleanse has begun.
I'll tackle the interior with vacuums, bleach, dawn, scrubbers, and swear words.
Once that's sorted, It's carb swap time.
Once that's sorted, it's Knuck rebuild time.
Once that's sorted, it's powersteering-drip sort time.
Unfortunately, the 60 has been sitting for about 6 months. I haven't had time to tear into it. The last tank of gas I put in it was ethanol free, but the possibility of varnish setting up has sat in the back of my mind for longer than I care to admit. I threw the battery in, gave it a squirt of starter fluid, Half-choke, turned the key and it fired right up. #feelsgoodman. Fuel filter is clean, carb window is clean. No drama pulling it into the garage.
Quick update:
Back in February(?)
@DomOfTheDead and
@DanS popped by the house to help with the 60 and 80. I needed to wrap a few maintenance items up on the 80 before I could free up space to move the 60 into the garage. The 80 got some fresh knucks, and Dan cleaned the mouse-poo varnish out of the 60's HVAC tubing. I had my doubts they would clean as well as they did. There's still hope.
Yesterday I pulled the seats/accoutrements from the cabin to free up space for the great scrubbin'ing. The carpet is pretty gnarly, but salvageable. The body is in good condition sans a few spots in the wheel well where the rear seat brackets are. Passenger/Driver footwells are clean. The channels in the door sills are filled with debris, but free of rust. That dog'll hunt.

The wheel wells are pretty gnarly and could use some repair. I can probably fumble through repairing/sealing the area, but it ain't gonna be pretty. Give 'er that rattle can special. I'm also unsure I can keep the rear seat/brackets in their stock position. Sealed wheel wells are greater than having a back seat. The rear seats are in a bad way as it is. I might turn this 60 into a coupe with a big ol' trunk. I'll workshop that one, it's got some flexibility.
The next hurdle is pulling the heater core and seeing about replacing it or pulling it apart to clean.
I'll drain the radiator and coolant prior to pulling the heater core. Coolant could use a good flush at this stage.
The plan is to clean and refurbish as much as I can. This 60 is going to fall somewhere between "Thrasher rig," and "looks good from 50 ft away."
Who says these trucks are fiscal liabilities? This one pays dividends.
