As a bit of an outsider here, I have put on off-road events like this in the past, without covid, at a fraction of the size and I can't even imagine the daunting efforts this takes. Chapeau! Sincere hats off to all of Rising Sun on this one. Whatever the incarnation this year brings, I'm certain it will be outstanding.

No, actually that's a good point. Please wear your mask as you register so as not to transmit covid-19 when you hit the register button.

You guys totally Rock! in more ways than one! Just wondering if members who are still paid from last year will be considered first? I'll wait for an answer after the 8th. Thanks!

Since registration will be limited, please order extra shirts to sell for those of us that cannot go. Thanks,
That's a good idea. I will bring that up in the next committee meeting. I'll get back with you.

We will address this once we have a idea of exactly what registration will look like.

People who registered last year will have first dibs.

To be clear, we refunded all the money from last year (minus the shirts and merch that we sent out). So no one has a "credit" for registration.

When you say you are "still paid from last year," what does that mean?

As a RR4x4 member, I received the EJS cancelled and then quickly after the Its Back on. Best I cans see its back on. I assume we will all just need to be a little flexible this year and see exactly what ends up allowed or not allowed closer to the time and prepare for possible changes.

Thanks for continuing to work on this.

Keith! How’s your 80 treating you these days? Have you made any mods from when you first got it?

I made lots of simple mods. (Gearing, Tires, Lockers, small lift, etc.), but then I blew the stock engine. I then bought a wrecked one put it in and blew it too. So Its now without a motor and desiring a V8.

I figure by the time all the Covid BS is behind us I will be ready again...

Unfortunately I probably put less than 2k of the 250k miles that are on it. So a little frustrated but you just keep plugging right.

Be nice when we can all start wheeling and meeting again.

Man! 2 engines, that's a bummer. Seems like you are making the most of it.

I know I said you did not need to refund my fee and could use it to cover any costs for the club. He might be talking about having done that. I know I want to come this year, but not sure I would be able yet.

I maybe wrong but I don't remember being refunded, though I did receive the gifts. If all were refunded I'll go with that and if I can sign up I'll do so. Thanks again for all of your work and Professionalism Matt, You sir are Outstanding!!!!

Some happy news (at least it is for me and I figure others here would agree), sounds like side by sides might get some restrictions.

Page I read: https//expeditionportal.com/new-moab-city-ordinance-disrupts-atv-related-events/

Not sure how serious this moratorium is, but here's to hoping!

We're definitely keeping an eye on this topic. I understand that the residents of Moab have been unhappy with loud ATVs blasting through the town at midnight, but we do have concerns that the next set of restriction might affect us.

UPDATE: Grand County has removed the 250-person limit for events. We are moving forward with Cruise Moab 2021, at last!
  • Cruise Moab 2021 early registration will open on Sunday, Feb. 21 for anyone who was registered for the 2020 event (that was canceled due to COVID-19). We'll send out an email with details.
  • Cruise Moab 2021 regular registration will open on Wednesday, Feb. 24. We'll send out an email to the CM notification list. If you're not on the list, you can sign up here.
Details:

1. This will be a masked-up event. Masks will be required during registration, tech inspection, drivers meetings, and any gatherings at the Old Spanish Trail Arena. People who refuse to wear a mask will be asked to leave, and if they don’t comply, the staff at the Old Spanish Trail Arena has been instructed to call law enforcement. Seriously. The Grand County attorney has made it clear they intend to enforce and prosecute people who don’t comply with wearing a mask. If we aren’t on the same page with them, we may lose our event permit for future years.

If wearing a mask rubs you the wrong way, please don’t come to the 2021 Cruise Moab. Wait until next year when (hopefully) things will be back to normal.

2. There will be no vendor night, no group dinner, and no raffle. This will be a minimalist version of Cruise Moab that is mainly about wheeling trails during the day and hanging out around the campfire in very small groups at night. If you’ve never been to Cruise Moab, coming in 2021 will not give you the full experience. Make plans for 2022. On the other hand, we know some of you long-timers will probably love a version of Cruise Moab that is stripped down to the bones. Fair enough.

3. Reduced Price: since we’re not doing a vendor night, raffle, or dinner, this year’s price has been reduced from $250 to $200. Woo hoo! Please note: that doesn’t include BLM fees for you and your passengers.

4. Limited Merchandise. We’re doing men’s and women’s t-shirts only this year. No hoodies, no kids shirts, no baseball caps. Please order extra shirts when you register — merchandise sales at the event will be limited if we have them at all. FYI: this year’s shirt design is super cool!

5. Camping will be available at the Old Spanish Trail Arena. You can pitch a tent on the race track for $10/night. You don’t need a reservation if you’re tent camping. They also have a few spots for campers with hookups for electric & water, which you will need to reserve in advance. More details here.

6. Trail selection will happen in March. As in recent past years, we have separated trail selection from the registration process. If you're not sure about your current status, use the links below to join or renew:

Any word on when the 2020 registrants will be able to sign up?
