looking at patrol one reports from 1999, the creek has always flowed onto the trail there.

I ran that section yesterday. I also rarely go up there in the summer. I was not used to seeing so many OHV's. i almost turned around when i saw the parking lot. The shooting area near the middle parking lot was a bit much. I guess it's normal for people shoot right off the road there. It reminded me of Left hand. I thought they had to be 100ft from the center-line of the road? I saw Mitch coming down the trail in his 40.
The road was surprisingly rough. I guess the snow smooths it out. But really there's just a ton up traffic up there. I made the whole loop from the playground down the rough section and back up and around to the same spot. Going down had some large holes near the main creek that were dug out pretty good like Steve was mentioning. Think Spring Creek. Loose and dug our rocks rolling around. It would be fun going the other direction and come back up it I suppose. Mile High Jeepers were coming up it and have having a hard time. So there is some challenge at Yankee hill in the summer now if want to call it that.
