Driving through the Ice Field Highway. This day fought me for picture taking. Messed with White Balance a bit and some other setting to try and get a good balance between the white sky and and white snow...

So awesome. Love the pictures. Tell us more about the trip details - who were you traveling with, what was the goal for this portion, etc.

Matt,

We had a week to get the Cruisers to Fairbanks, Ak from Salt Lake City. Staging th rigs. Scott Brady and a few others then took the Cruisers to Prudhoe Bay, where Expeditions 7 begins. I rtode along with Jeremiah and another from the Slat Lake shop of Proffitt's Cruisers. The guy that one the newsletter contest, Shawn Smith, was also with us.

The route we took to get to Fairbanks was along the Alaskan Highway, with a night spent in Haines Alaska.

Beautiful Trip. Did you get to drive some? I wonder why they got RHD vs LHD. Maybe that was the only available at the time?

Wes, I did get to drive a little, mainley moving the rigs around the parking lot etc. Not being on the allowed driver list, I didnt want to chance anything. They got the rigs in New Zealand since that's one of a few countrys that offers that body style/engine combo.

Some more pics:

More of the Ice Field Highway and Jasper National Park.

Nice thing about driving to Alaska at the end of winter is we had the highway to ourselves. No motorhomes to deal with.

Did you pass through Watson Lake? I forgot to ask you to find my sign there :)

Those truck look super cool! I bet they were awesome to drive/ride in.

Marco, we did pass through Watson Lake. Spent a short amount of time due to snow pack. So I didnt get to see your sign. Look for a PC (Proffittss Cruisers) Sign near the entrance if your ever up that way again.

No frost heaves. Mild weather to be honest. The big bag of mine that Farnham mentioned about was overly packed.

So what was the deal with this trip? Where did you leave from? Where did you end up? How many days?

Matt,

So the point of this trip was to "Stage" the Expedition 7 Land Cruisers to Fairbanks. A shake down run I guess. From fairbanks, Scott Brady took the trucks to Prudhoe Bay, where Greg Miller flew in and Expedition 7 officialy began.

After flying into Salt Lake City on Saturday the 7th, and crashing at Paul May's place, we took off from Proffitt's Cruisers at Miller Motor Sports Race Track in Tooele, Utah Monday Afternoon.

We averaged 550 miles a day. Monday-Sunday. With one side trip to Haines Ak, after the ok from the boss. Finishing the trip with an anti-climatic ending into the kinda crapy town of Fairbanks, Ak.
