Hallelujah! The trail leader assignment list is ready!

First of all, THANK YOU to all our leaders and gunners!! You all MAKE this event! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you all. This year I had to mainly go by the people who filled out the Trail Leader form on the website. It is not too late if you still want to lead a trail! Take a look at the list below of trail leader needs and shoot me an email at trailboss@cruisemoab.com if you are interested. We can run any of these trails at the Pre-Run if you wanted to learn the trail before Cruise Moab. FYI I do have a few emails out to past trail leaders, I will update the list below as I fill the spots.

Attached is a pdf with each trail and their assigned leaders. We still have most gunners to fill in, but I usually do that after trail selection (THIS SATURDAY) and choose from the people signed up, or if you are the trail leader and you have someone in mind, just let me know! trailboss@cruisemoab.com

I hope to email this to all the assigned trail leaders tonight but I have been working on this pretty much all day so I might have to wait until morning. :)

We have 13 trail leader openings but most of those are the harder trails:

Wednesday, April 15
Hurrah Pass - Family Sunset Cruise (Sponsored by TLCA) 5:00 - This is a relatively new trail that I have led the last couple of years but this year I will be at HQ manning the Trailboss desk/table. :) Anyone want to take on this easy trail that usually has a lot of newbies and families?

Thursday, April 16
6:30 am
Kane Creek Canyon
9:00 am
Deadman Springs/Point
Gold Bar Rim
Hell's Revenge

Friday, April 17
9:00 am
Flat Iron Mesa
Hell's Revenge
Metal Masher
Moab Rim
Porcupine Rim

Saturday, April 18
7:00 am
Golden Spike
8:00 am
Cliffhanger
9:00 am
Rusty Nail

Thanks again all, Cruise Moab 2026 will be EPIC!

NOTE2: I am still working out some vendor sponsored trails, so not all the sponsors are on this list quite yet. Any other vendors who want to sponsor a trail, you know how to reach me :)

Tim, here is the blurb for the Saturday training run @jps8460 and I volunteered to do

Cruise Moab Train and Trail:

Join I4WDTA Certified Trainers and long-time Cruise Moab participants Jackson Philby and Kurt Williams for an immersive training day. This run will kick off with hands-on “classroom” time at the Spanish Trails Arena where we’ll cover basic 4WD systems such as Part-Time vs Full-Time 4WD, Lockers vs ATRAC/Crawl Control, basic mechanical systems, intro to vehicle recovery and more. We’ll cover basic vehicle safety checks, recovery gear and tool load-out and communications gear before departing for a half-day of hands-on training at a nearby trail.

Complimentary lunch will be provided by OLT4x4.

While on the trail, participants will learn basic off-road driving techniques, including obstacle climbing and descending, obstacle negotiation, throttle control, and terrain assessment. The training will also introduce basic recovery and safety practices, such as the correct use of recovery points, static and kinetic tow straps/ropes, traction equipment and winching. We’ll wrap up on the trail with a Q&A at the air-up point.

To be honest we’re going to do some “class room” time. And kind of decide from there. Since we’ll be hours behind any other group I’m kind of thinking we make the trail a bit of a game time decision based on what the group wants to learn more about.

What a great suggestion and opportunity for attendees to learn some great skills!

Would be a great starting point for future "breakout" learning oppertunities!

Thanks!

I am taking off for Moab right now to do my pre-runs. I will do Seven Mile Rim, and Gold Bar Rim, along with my favorite Hell's Revenge. If my long wheel base is able to do Gold Bar Rim I might take that one on Thursday.
Unfortunelty I will have to sit in hotel to register tomorow morning.
Is there anything I should look at or run (up to a 6 rating) while I am there this weekend?

Happy Friday! The UPDATED trail leader assignment list is ready!

While not written in stone, trail leader assignment is complete.

Attached is a pdf with each trail and their assigned leaders and gunners. We still have some gunners to fill in, but I usually do that after trail selection (TOMORROW) and choose from the people signed up, or if you are the trail leader and you have someone in mind, just let me know! trailboss@cruisemoab.com

There are 2 openings but I plan to fill those at the pre-run next weekend. :)

There are also still vendor sponsored trails still available, please respond if interested.

Thanks and can't wait to see you at the pre-run and/or Cruise Moab 2026!

Tim @timmbuck2 - looks like Fri SevenMile Rim Group B is a bust - only me and the gunner (Michael J) are signed up. We should probably join the Group A run with Rob H and Sarah S, however, this would put us over by 1. Or we could see if people want to split up into two smaller groups once we get to the meeting spot, although this make the paperwork a bit messy.

No worries Christian, let's chat about options. We are still sending an email out this weekend reminding people to register for trails, many people still have not. We can also email anyone who said they were bringing a Taco and let them know about the run! I will send you a dm. Thanks man
