Unfortunately, it seems as if the odometer was altered. Carfax shows that it only had 285,840 before it was totaled.

Not bad prices on these 60s
In the newest Hagerty Magazine it talks about how both the old Bronco and Fj40 are down 12% and the ridiculous days are over/tapering...this will be amazing news for us enthusiasts if these two are a sign of things to come!

While true, this stat is based off of registered sales prices....we all know what that really means!

My mom is a retired rural mail carrier and this rig would have been perfect. She drove over 100 miles a day on gravel roads in eastern Kansas in 1980’s vintage LH drive Corolla’s. Those dang cars would last 300k until the suspension finally gave out.

If this is the dude I think it is here just outside Golden, he always has some interesting cars he's finding and selling. Don't know his story but he finds cool stuff, so this 40 is on brand.

I'm pretty close to convincing myself a 40 would be a better investment than cash I have in CDs. Even with today's rates.
I'm personally investing in tools right now, they've already paid for themselves at least a couple of times over in labor cost saved and perhaps could make me money at some point who knows. Tell you what though if society collapses they will be about as valuable as lead and certainly more valuable than gold in the short to medium term lol.
