Wanting to clean the throttle body on my '95. Is it necessary to remove the throttle body from the Intake manifold to do a more complete cleaning?

Kinda. There's a lot of gunk that builds up on the back side of the TB plate that you won't get to if you just remove the air intake tube and clean on the "air side". Plus, you can get a good look at the intake passages and check for carbon deposits on that little EGR alley.

IT's a bit of a pain to remove it with the throttle cables and all the vacuum hoses, but nothing terrible. There's a couple of coolant hoses underneath that you have to deal with too. The TB gasket is supposed to be replaced if you open it up so keep that in mind, especially if yours hasn't been opened in a bit.
