Argentine Pass Road: One-Day Road Closure Planned
GEORGETOWN, Colo. – Argentine Pass Road (Forest Service Road 248.1) at Waldorf Mine will be closed Sept. 9, 2020, for a culvert replacement, weather permitting. The rugged, high-alpine road is popular with four-wheel-drive enthusiasts. The public is advised to plan alternate adventures as the road will be closed for the entire day. Through-travel will not be possible, there are no alternate routes around the construction and few safe turnaround points are available. The existing culvert is crushed and blocking drainage and compromising the road. The replacement double-wall culvert will allow more water to pass through and will better hold up to the high-alpine weather. K. “Reid” Armstrong
