I guess I should write a quick update
Beautiful morning however from Denver you could not see the mountains at all due to the smoke from the Canadian and NW fires. We were at the stop light at 93/58 and 6 getting ready to head west and we saw 3 nice 40's on the road ahead of us.

We had 8 trucks at coffee shop in Downieville 6 40's and 2 45's but Dean's 40 was just there to say hi to us. We had one of the 45's not want to start but after glaring at the starter, it fired right up. 7 of us hit the road and what a nice drive over Berthoud Pass!
The smoke was starting to clear and the views were amazing as always. We headed up Rollins Pass and other than 1 very impatient Jeep that had to fly past us at top speed, we had a nice drive to the top. We parked at the main trailhead and some of us hiked to the tunnel. I think Rachel said it was 1.8 miles each way, and she did it with flying colors!! So good to see you healthy and hiking!! At about this time
@OlGreyMare shows up (he was headed the other direction and then remembered the 40's run!! Thanks for making the detour!) and takes the high road over to the trailhead near the tunnel. We had some fun setting up for a group pic and the drone from
@OlGreyMare sure took some awesome pics! We had a little issue with
@Jcbmx 40 that had a radiator hose rubbing on the shroud and leaking. After putting all our heads together, we put together a fix that got him all the way home with no issues. A little later he had the pin on his windshield hinge break, but luckily that was the only carnage we had.
On the way back down a guy in a Land Rover was in the middle of the trail standing on top of his truck and taking a video. He had said hi at the trailhead and said he used to "have an FJ" and asked to take pics, so I took his waving at us to be just saying hi. When we got to him he pointed behind us and a huge moose was near the trail! He took some video of us coming down the trail with zero idea that we were so close to the moose. We took some time to take a lot of pics! He also gave us the videos he took

Now I know he was trying to make the sign of a big moose antlers and was not in fact just waving hi.
A little later on the way down we saw 2 more moose. I think I have seen a moose almost every time I have been on this trail, including my very first time in my Jeep Wrangler!!
We made it back down and aired up and said our goodbyes. Bruno made the drive towing his awesome 45 over the pass, always great to see you!
