So if someone shows up with say a 60, and someone else has a 40, that's kinda like a 100 right? Or how about a 75 and a 25? Or a 55 and a 45? I just don't know how to make an 80 come up even.

Sounds like a fun run, I'll put it on the calendar.

How about an 80 towing a trailer made from the back half of a 40?

A "100 series run" to get breakfast in Georgetown? I'd be offended if I hadn't participated in a proper one, that included challenges. Sounds like it turned for the better with the ice racing challenge. Hopefully you guys can keep Chris out of the lake. I cant afford to have mine totaled if it fell through, but I'll watch.

Tim,

A couple thoughts for you:
A couple years ago I went up to Argentine in the winter (in February) and was able to access the trail.

Snow Run Investigation 2/17/2008

Guanella Pass Road is closed at the Naylor Lake/Silver Dollar Lake turnoff:

This is about as far as I was able to get up Argentine, aired down to about 12 psi:

As you can see this is only about 100 yards along the trail.

A month ago when some of us went up there it looked like there was a well-travelled cross-country ski/snowshoe track on Argentine. Be very wary of the trees, especially with the dogs and kids around.

As you can see in the thread above, the Saxon Mountain area can also be accessed in winter(I was told the gate rarely, if ever, gets closed) and could be a good alternate location for walking/driving.

Cool, thanks Matt. We'll see how it goes.. if there's access then we'll wheel up as far as we can safely get. If it's snowy, then hopefully there's enough access for everyone to park & hike, who wants to. In any case, will be cool to get up there to play no matter what we'll have some sort of fun adventure.

FYI-
The planning for the second annual "100s in the Hills" will begin shortly.Keep your eyes posted on Mud.

I will be in Steamboat that weekend. I'm going to see what I can do if anything to move my schedule around to be there. It would be cool to meet up with you guys.

:oHate to be the knob!! but where is the I-70 and Morrison "geocut" exit??:(

I first thought is was the E-470 & Morrison exit but I am dazed & "corn-fuzed"

Besides the fact that it has been MONTHS since my last run or meeting... I would still like to show up and play.

Thank you for clearing that up for me! Isn't that an RTD park-n-ride area?

I think so- take C4 all the way around past Morrison to I-70, then take I-70 up the hill and it's your first exit on the right. Turn right, then left, go uphill some more on the frontage road. Then left into the parking lot- it's the lot you'll see dead ahead, just as you exit I-70.

The town of Georgetown monitors the thickness of the ice and closes the lake if it isn't safe for vehicles. I'm taking the 911 to an ice racing event there this coming Saturday. It will be interesting to see how a rear engine/rear wheel drive vehicle does with snow tires.

Cool, keep us posted on the conditions Randy! And a reminder this "run" is open invitation to come out and meet some people, with three events, all optional:

1. Watch ice racing.
2. eat breakfast.
3. explore Argentine in the winter.
