Hey all. Working on a project with a T100 and a 2uz. I've got a snag and I hope someone can give suggestions, input and more!

I have everything figured out except the electronics. The truck is drive by cable and the motor is drive by wire. I'd like to keep this project drive by cable if possible.

For further context, the T100 is a 95 with a 5vz and R150. The donor vehicle is a 2008 4runner auto.

The way I see it I have two options.
1: adapt a throttle body from a 1998 to 2002 2uz to my motor. The problem here is I'd have to bypass the motor power for the butterfly and another sensor and tell that to the ecu. The problem with this is I don't know how to work with the ecu.

2: I can keep the drive by wire but I'd need to run an electric gas pedal. I don't know what harness I'd need for that and basically everything for that.

What are all your thoughts? Are there more options I'm not thinking of?

I put drive by wire 5.3 LS into an 80. All it needed was 1) a plate (I made) to attach to the firewall and the pedal to bolt to that, and 2) I cut up the GM pedal arm and cut up the 80 pedal arm, melted the metal together and have the 80 pedal in near exactly the OE space. Maybe you find a pedal out of a 2008 4Runner? I had the entire donor 2004 Suburban and used a lot of bits!

Did you ever get this figured out?

To me the easiest solution would be to find the DBW pedal to work with it. There are several different options: Tundra, Sequoia, 4runner, SC430, etc.

I doubt that you're going to be able to retrofit a drive by cable TB on it because the ECM is looking for the throttle position sensor output and the accelerator position output to not go into limp mode. Without those appropriate signals, the engine will run but you won't be able to go faster than 30 mph.

Thank you guys for your responses. I ended up using a lexus v8 engins wire harness with ecu and pedal. Now I've run into another problem and I'm out of ideas. The engine swap is complete but has one big issue. It has no power! It starts and runs very well but just has no get up and go. Engine revs till about 2400 rpm before power fades. The engine never cuts out or sputters, just gives nothing past a certain point. We have basically exhausted all potential problems that could cause it and have come up empty handed. 1. We left the stock fuel pump as it is the exact same part as in all models with the 2uz and the fuel pressure stays a constant 44 psi. 2. Engine has no lean codes and fuel trim is as close to spec as possible, however we did need to make an intake reducer to make it run correctly, without it the truck will not run. 3. The engine is in completely stock form with no performance modifications. 4. Wire harness and tune were provided by Lexus V8 and appear to work as intended(except no power). 5. We verified the engine is in correct timing. 6 engine throws no codes. 7. Checked intake manifold gasket and injector seals. 8. Engine has secondary air injection and emissions delete from engine and computer. 9. Engine is out of a 2007 Toyota 4Runner.

I am looking for help and advice on what could be causing the issue. Could it be faulty ecu flashing and tune? Need more fuel pressure? To much or to little air? Incorrect exhaust back pressure? VVTI problem?

Advice is much appreciated!

My first thought is tranny related. Correct torque converter? Fluid good?

Can you monitor timing and see if it’s pulling a ton when it looses power?

" however we did need to make an intake reducer to make it run correctly"

How about a detailed discription of this?
