Negatory on the FT-2900 Red Leader. The club has a couple of FT-2800s so maybe we have software or at least the cable. I'll check and see, if I can come up with it I'll bring it along.

The software and cable:

RT Systems is here in Colorado now, so an order comes the next day (or same day if you pick it up in Broomfield). I don't have a FT-2800 or FT-2900 otherwise I would buy it.

Edit to add:
I can probably also program VX-2, VX-5 and FT-60 HTs and there is a fair chance I might also be able to handle FT-7800 and FT-8900 (I have the cables). I could also do the FT-1802 and FT-2800, UV-3R and UV-5R if we have or find cables for them.

I have the CHIRP software, which is an open source GNU programming platform that attempts to move towards a unified programmer with vendor specific drivers. In my experience it has mixed results but I'm willing to try cloning if you are.

I will be there as close to 9AM tomorrow as I can and will plan to stay until 1PM. After party at Big Choice, so if you come late and no one's at the first location go to the fall back position. Tunes and fixes done at BCB enjoy no warranty protection. :-)

Simplex talk in will be 147.420MHz (Rising Sun #3).

Backup will be 147.540MHz (RS #4).

Repeater will be the 147.225MHz/+0.600/107.2Hz CRA machine since it's linked to 145.460/-0.600/107.2Hz in Boulder, 145.160MHz/-0.600/107.2Hz in the Springs.

Backup will be 145.145/-0.600/107.2Hz.

CB is channel 4

Backup will be channel 3.

If anyone wants to try UHF, I usually monitor the RMRL repeater at 449.450MHz/-5.0/103.5Hz but this will be on a secondary basis, no promises.

Holy smokes this is the farm pig and brown eggs run meeting in longmont ;)

I doubt i'll trek all the way up there. Anyone on the southside want to meet and we can talk to the other group up north? Be kinda cool to have 2 locations anyway...

Soccer here, too.

We've got soccer all morning. I should be able to make it there by 11:45. I'll bring my mfj swr meter, and some random power pole stuff.

Wes, why don't we do that. We can meet over near the Ham Radio Outlet on Evans east of 25. I need a new cable.
They don't open until 10am though, so food first. :)

Good talking with you Tim and Perry. My radio install in the FJ60 seems to be functional. :thumb:

I was listening and calling occasionally most of the morning, but didn't make contact with anyone else today. I was on the 147.225 repeater and 147.420 and 146.460 simplex.

How did it go Dave?

Thank you, Dave and Tim, for the kindergarten lesson today! I actually learned a bit and am ordering a handheld ASAP.

Thanks again Tim and Dave!! I really appreciate the help getting my new handhelds programmed, and the help from both of you to get the 7900 downloaded was awesome! Good chatting with everyone else, good run!!

Shoot :(

I should have driven my truck on Saturday to soccer and chatted with you guys...We were in Boulder around 8am and headed to Littleton at about 11am. The family could have just shook their heads at me :hill:

Stan, we'd have to check with Dave/Tim but I "might" be able to help you program your radio...Not sure what I have for my FT-8800 will work though based on what Dave stated above...
