I'm sure a fair number of you have moved or installed different seat belts in your trucks, particular the FJ40s. I'd like to move the latch side of my seat belts from their stock location to a better spot, so I poked around under the floor. There are captured nuts in reinforced locations under the floor and tranny hump. Is it not advisable to redrill the floors? If so, what would you do to reinforce the sheet metal? I've read using washers, drilling a piece of flat stock (i.e., like a washer on steroids) and there are commercial plates. The plates look slick, you drill an oversized hole and use this plate with a captured nut, very much like stock. I wonder if you are supposed to weld it in or just sandwich the floor? Anyway, ideas, thoughts and recommendations.
