RS Holiday Party/meeting: Friday, 12/8/23

Alright people.

Date: We are having the RS Holiday Party on Friday 12/8/23.
We won’t be having our meeting on Wednesday.

Time: Doors at 6:30. Official party starts at 7.

Location: Golden Gate Canyon Grange, 25201 Golden Gate Canyon Rd, Golden, CO 80403 - Google Maps.
(About 4 miles up the canyon from Slee Off-Road). Note: no dogs allowed.

We will do like we’ve been in the past.
Pot luck and white elephant gift exchange.
Please post up what you plan to bring for the pot luck.
White elephant…. If you plan to participate you need to bring a gift.

Is 11 the cutoff on cookie trays?
We are in. 2 adults and 2 teens that eat more than adults.
Thinking on what to make but leaning towards either a mixed dozen of boiled and non boiled eggs or gulf coast chicken sashimi (never seen it up this far north).
Or maybe cheesy potatoes for the less adventurous people.

Have you tried chicken sashimi? It looks a lot like salmon sashimi but it's chicken! Same color and everything!

Fine … I’ll make the tomato pudding I brought last year. Sounds weird, looks weird, but y’all emptied the dish so I know a few of you are converts to this midwest delicacy.

Nothing like ketchup - In fact, I hate ketchup! Gobs of brown sugar browned in tomato purée on the stove, like 2 sticks of butter, bread crumbs. It’s more like a crunchy, gooey bread pudding with tomato purée. You’ll see!
