We had a spectacular run today to Red Cone. Thanks to Ben and Dan for doing this. It was great having Ham Radios as even when we were out of CB range, we were chatting crystal clear on the Hams.

It was great to see the FJ team Robbie, Chris, Rod and ? (can't remember), and our new neighbors the Coberly's on a spectacular day.

After many years I was finally able to convince my Father to come along. He always thought of offroad driving like riding a buckboard. He had a great time and was impressed with the driving skill of his granddaughters. He also brought a visiting friend who had a great time.

It was also nice to see Mike's repaired 40 back on the trail and Ige's 80. I wish I got pictures of more trucks, but we had a big turnout (17 trucks) and really didn't stop at obstacles, just when groups in front of us broke down.

But of course wild man Ben had to have some fun and during lunch the Romer caravan happened to be parked next to a mud hole. So Ben came zooming down and went through the mud splashing out trucks.

To be fair, he warned us first, but Sarah still had here window open a crack. The mud splashed with such force that were cleaning it out for an hour when we got home from inside the truck. Ben said something about Uncle Ben owing us some money, not sure what that means.

I know people got pics of this so hopefully they will post them. I know Rod from the FJ team got a picture and drenched in mud getting it.

As I said earlier, the Hams were a great thing to have. I tried to say good bye to folks on the CB who had stopped a ways back and couldn't reach them, but got ahold of Dan (gunner) on the Ham and he was crystal gear.

I think spreading the Hams out like we did today was a good idea. Course there were only 3 of us.

I had a great time on the run. I went home up Radical Hill and down to Breck. I saw about 30 Mtn. goats on the way home. There were 4 or 5 groups with 6-7 in each group. I didn't have a camera so no pictures.
