Rear window.

The rear window on the 4Runner is giving me issues.
I’m not the most savvy electrical person with cars.
The window won’t roll down with the switch. The key will roll it up and down. The switch will roll it back up if I use the key to roll it down.
Ideas?? Thinking it might be the switch…. 🤷‍♂️

Switch. Start by cleaning it. If still no go, replace.

 

[On the RX]

I would start with the fuse then the switch in the dash, then check the connection in the hatch where the plug is for power on the connectors. If none of those, then check the wiring from the body to the hatch. It is probably the wiring from the body to the hatch at the roof line. This one is the biggest pains in the butt to access but a fail point when you have this issue. If that is the cause, it may not be long before you lose power to the window motor and the license plate lights. The wire harness gets brittle and will start cracking and grounding out.
