RCI Catalyst Protector

I bought RCI Skid Plates and anti-theft Catalytic Converter protectors. My 4-cylinder Tacoma only has one Cat and the kit has two protectors. Do you need one? They will only work on RCI 3rd Gen Tacomas or the equivalent FJ's or 4-Runners. I think it would work on either side with little or no modification. Boulder, and I would be happy to take it to a meeting.
