I'm pretty sure I'm not getting a good enough ground on either tire carrier for good CB/HAM connections.

How should I ground my swing outs for the best grounding results?

I picked up a roll of tinned braided flat cable from HRO, but I'm wondering where the best points are to connect it?

Thanks in advance.

Use the braid to jump over places of poor conductivity. You can assume the steel itself under the paint is good and anything welded should also be conductive. So you want to use jumpers over hinges, pivots, bolted connections, etc. from the antenna to the frame. This also true of body panels, BTW. You usually can benefit from a jumpers between the body, doors, hood and fenders to the frame.

Thanks Dave, I jumped from the swing arm back to the frame and drilled and tapped new holes for each end, used the star washers and stainless hardware. Everything is sounding MUCH better.
