Who set up your 80's R&P's locally in town? I am not looking for how much, a proper gear install is priceless (I've had 3 domestics done in the past). I am looking to do it possibly after the holidays.

Did you bring them the parts, install kits, shims, etc, or did the shop want to use their source's parts?

Nay, Ken, others?

I bought my gears from Slee (Precision) and the rest of the parts from Toyota. I pulled them myself and hired Lexusben on here to do the work.

Lexusben, Sleeoffroad, powderpig could all do the setup for you without wondering if they know what they are doing.

If you buy Yukon gears, be sure to ask for the better ones. Yukons are repackaged US Gear, Precision, or some other brands. US Gear and Precision are what you want.

The install kits are just fine and equal to the Toyota part$$.

just curious as to anyone who has done a turn key on this as to about how much it ran? looking just to change out the gearing and probably have the front rebuilt since it will be apart.

One thing to check, lots of Jeep shops set the backlash looser than Toy specs. Just sayin'.
Also, minitruck carrier bearing preload is pretty critical for long life. Most undertorque. YMMV.
