So from researching it looks like T-012 Cygnus White is everybody's best guess as to the cap color for 1977. This appears to align with PPG ref#9219, which I should just be able to take to a paint store and they should be able to match it right? I guess I'll find out Monday...

I've got a can from NAPA, color number 98L42077, name "white." No idea if that's the official white though, hth..

yes, a paint store can match it. i had eggshell white on the lemon when i first got it and a paint store put some in rattle cans from the paint code.

I have been hunting on MUD for a PPG code to match Toyota T1434 - the Gray Metallic color on the front bumper, glove box door (I am very particular about where I put my gloves!), ash tray, speedo cluster...

Contact Painter's Supply on south Santa Fe, they should be able to look up the match. 303-762-1606. They told me the PPG color code for the top and bezel is 883, matching Toyota's Cygnus White.
