.

Been looking at the maps a bit. Looks to be about a 6 hour drive to Devvils Tower from Denver. I'm thinking we should plan to meet up there Saturday the 26th to start the weeks adventure:cool:.

Just bumping as we get closer to the run:cool:.

Wanted to see who is in for this year. I know Sean B and Shawn S are out for this year due to family and work. So who else is coming?

The current plan is to meet up at Devils Tower Saturday evening, Sunday morning ( trying to find a good camp for when we get there). Sunday explore the Black Hills around Devils Tower and check out the town of Sundance, Wyo. From Sundance, head to Bella Fourche (have what looks to be a fun route for that) checking out the site of a failed bank robbery by the Wild Bunch. Camp either around Bella Fourche or a bit further south at the northern tip of the Black Hills in S. Dakota.

The rest of the week is pretty open, other than plans to check out Deadwood and Mt. Rushmore. I found an old Steam Engine train in one of the towns south of Deadwood, so thats an option as well.

Going to be a fun run, a bit mellow this year with the distance we have to cover but looks to be some fine country:cool:

Unfortunately, I'm out Perry. Just too many things that still have to happen at the house before the first snow. I'm glad to still help out organizing the route! LMK.

I'm still hoping to make it for the first 3-4 days, but I may have to cancel if I am needed on a Scouting backpacking trip.

Hope to have you along!

Bummer Dave, but understandable!! Hope everything gets done in time!

So, thinking out loud here. Yes the Outlaws Run is about getting out and seeing past exploits of the Wild Bunch, but its also hanging with my Outlaw Pals. With Matt a possible, Dave out to keep working on the house, that leaves myself, Daniel Linn, possible James and who knows about Kurt. Oh, and haven't heard for Dan S.

What would your guys thoughts be on maybe finding new dates (again) that work for everyone. Maybe find a long weekend that works best. Heck we could do a late late run into January. We could head back down to NM, starting in Mills Canyon with an attempt at the old Wagon road we past last year, then head on over to Lincoln County and check out the exploits of Billy the Kid. Or we can head down to Tombstone... Or just head west into the desert:blah:.

Thoughts. Yay, nay?

Later would likely be better for me. Even over Thanksgiving would work for me and its usually down time at work and the weekend could easily extend into 5 days or so. I like the NM idea too

I'm planning on it, but I do need to get to Antonito on Friday the 2nd at the latest, so might have to head out a touch early.

I would be down for that for sure. Almost positive my Dad would come along then, especially if we were heading into NM.

January would be most amazing for me though, since I should have my 60 ready to go by then....

Thanksgiving is no good for me, but I'm open to early November, early December, month of January...

My intent is to avoid missing the Outlaws Run at all costs.

If I don't have a Scouting conflict on the current dates, we will go wheeling on the last weekend of September, even if we only camp for one night.

I think I'm ok with the original dates or something close to those.

Now that the hectic week is over, have some time to think about Outlaws.

As for possible new dates, what about the first week of December (Dec 2-6th)? In between the holidays and well an important date for one Outlaw:hill:. We could head out Wed and come home Sunday? I'm really liking the New Mexico idea as well.

Matt, if we decide on new dates for Outlaws, i'll join you for a September outing trip. i'm sure your ready to take the 80 out on the trail after getting work done on it:cool::thumb:.

I'll put forth an idea if we move the outlaws run to December, January or something (which I'm good with--but prefer January):

Perry, we could go back to the C&TS that week for some photos. I saw the first golden Aspens of the year flying over Kremmling a couple days ago, and they are starting to get a bit light up in Clear Creek...

Intriguing:), but I'm curious about that old Wagon road in Mills Canyon and how long it's been since somebody's driven it. Plus, that puts us pretty close to Ft. Sumner and Lincoln- Billy the Kid country.

Alright all, I'd like to propose some new dates for Outlaws this year. The dates are December 2-6th. A long weekend, Wednesday to Sunday. The plan, being a bit later in the year is to head back to New Mexico, meeting in Mills Canyon, then from there, head to Ft. Sumner and Lincoln.

I'm wanting to change the dates again in hopes of getting more Outlaws on the run this year.

I think I could make that work. This job I just measured in Denver would install mid November so I am debating an October trip to western CO and Moab area as well.
