Trail Information, *This ride is now full, Don't worry I'll host more*
Well be taking Oh My God road from Idaho Springs into Blackhawk, get on Nevadaville Road, and continue to Yankee Hill Road.
Oh My God, and Nevadaville are basic 2wd accessible dirt roads, but both have decent views of the surrounding area, and old mining equipment and buildings. Nevadaville is also a gold mining ghost town.
Difficulty,
The only difficulty from this run will be from heavy snowfall between now and the run on Yankee Hill, looking at the weather. Theres only a few days below freezing in Idaho Springs, and one day has a 50% chance of snow. Trail reports from other runs have stated there isnt much snow or ice on the trail, from beginning to end.
Recommended Vehicle
Stock 4x4, high clearance, low range and good tires should be enough.
Meet-up/What to bring,
We'll meet at the USFS work area MEET HERE
At 10:00AM, Well leave for the trails around 10:20AM.
Bring,
Food/Water
Warm Clothes
Gloves
Shovel
Proper rated Recovery Strap
Front and Rear Recovery Points
Spare Tire and or Patch Kit
CB/GMRS radio is strongly preferred.
All of my runs are new member and beginner 4x4 friendly, if you have questions you can ask here or directly.
Id like to get 3-4 other rigs on the trail. I do have two friends coming along, one in a pretty stock third gen tacoma, and another in a moderately built discovery 2, both are new to offroading in the Rockies
Id love to be at or around 6-7 rigs.
Lets try and find a bit of snow, during this crazy winter!
