Decided to repurpose one of the magnetic tig torch holders I have to use as a grinder holder. Works well and no modifications needed.

That's a solid idea and implementation! The on/off magnet is real nice for clean up. I love the magic of magnets, but I hate cleaning all the steel dust & chips that magnets invariably collect.

Update! Phase 2 underway!

The new table has been AWESOME! It is amazingly helpful and handy to have. But one downside is that I can not move it around the shop easily. The hydraulics system is a power up, gravity down. So the entire base would need to live on casters, or I would need to find a way to lift the base off the ground once legs/casters were added. I would also like to run a set of adjustable height legs with casters on the bottom of them to serve as an additional safety in case the hydraulic system lets go.

Being short on time as always, I decided to build a set of fixed height legs with casters that could be eventually used to make into adjustable height legs. Then use a small winch to pull the base up off of the ground when the legs were attached. I only had larger winches on hand so I made a couple calls to my suppliers and found an open box, incomplete ATV winch with a 3000 pound capacity that was offered up as free. I couldn't pass it up. It was missing the wireless controller, it's mount, and some of the wiring. But I knew I had stuff on the shelf that I could use to make it work.

Found a couple snatch blocks on the shelf that could be of use:

And made a quick mount for the winch that I could weld onto the table:

Then made 4 legs and mounts for them. Welded the legs up and assembled each of them with 2500 pound capacity casters and directional locks. Then welded the mounts for them on to the table and bolted the legs on to the table.

Welded the winch mount into place, drilled the hole for the snatch block into the base, and drilled the hole for the hook into the table top. Then mounted the winch, controller, and switch, And wired everything up with quick connects for a battery and strung the winch line.

And now I can move the table around the shop easily

Next I need to find time to make the legs adjustable height. But that might take me a while...

I want to say Fireball Tools shared an in depth walk through of their adjustable leg design on youtube. A short I found:

Just offering ideas. Awesome progress on your shop! I love the ability of moving tools around easily while also being able to plant them stable when needed.
