No..... I NEED ONE.... It's like a technology "fix" that i NEED !
you should spring for the 8900 being a general

I did spring for the 8900 and got them to lock in the price on thurs. Really glad i did as the prices all went up today when i went to pick up an antenna...... the radio went up another $35
Now deciding where to mount it is the next step in the process..
If i get it in by Monday, at least i will be able to practice listening in
When i told my bro i wanted to "ragchew" he laughed really hard. i guess it does sound funny....
The FT-8900 does 10m, which like Wes mentions is not available to tech licensees. But it only does 10m FM and that's a pretty big limitation, so I'm not sure how useful it really is. I mean a general will want to do AM on 10m for sure. Personally, I can't see it being worth the money and would probably do the FT-857D instead. But the bump in price from a 8800 to a 8900 is pretty small, so I guess having 6m and 10m FM might be worth it for $50.you should spring for the 8900 being a general![]()
