Well almost.
Just read about this and I thought I'd post up to see if anyone else has heard about it.
Seems there is a program where the US Dept. of Trans. will provide matching funds for work done on USFS roads!!! The USFS can't get the money directly, BUT if, say a group gets together and decides to, say close a mud bog, the group can apply to the state to match the money spent, volunteer hours, expenses, etc. The DOT then reimburses the state for the money paid out.
This is all I have found out so far, http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/safetealu/factsheets/fedlands.htm, I'll look into it more. If any one else could do a little looking into it as well, then post up so we can compare notes
