I'm sure the MiniBill could strap in a car seat and join in on the fun. Start them young and they'll be Mini Truck lovers for life!

Congrads!

I'm out for the same reason, but my lil dude is 2 weeks older than Bills.

Problem with that is, Momma is the food source, and the comfort source, so it doesn't work so good with only 2 seats unless they leave Bill at home :D

I tried that logic with my wife, but she said N.O. She was absolutely not up for a couple days bouncing in the truck with milk pressure. Ah well, in a couple weeks we'll have the go ahead for bottles and then its GAME ON!!!

Did I miss the boat? Should I have just had a child to complete my Mini Truck, too?

Thanks, I plan on starting him early but 10 days old may be a little too early. :)Like Isaac said, a mini with only two seats is not very conducive to Momma and baby Sage (his name). Wish I could join you guys but I feel that bonding with him and helping out Momma is more important. Have a good time and post a lot of pics!

Congrats Bill!

It seems having children is the most common reason people move away from a mini truck to something else. The guy I bought my '91 from had to get something more appropriate for carrying young kids and their (apparently) mountains of junk.

My truck had 5 seatbelts, too. Although the back seats are only useful from like age 7 to 8. Old enough not to need a full-on car seat but their legs are still short enough to fit.

I dunno, he had two kids and had finally succumbed to the minivan siren. Or, well, at least the call of mom being fed up with having just two doors.

Poor guy, held out as long as possible because he built custom wooden canoes and had a legitimate need for a truck, which was I believe was fulfilled with an old beater F150 eventually.

Lol. Mountains of junk isn't really an issue. One extra bag and a stroller every once and a while. In fact, a pickup would be better for a parent who had mountains of junk. It's the car seats. They take up an astronomical amount of room considering they carry such little cargo. My wife fits comfortably in the front seat of my 4Runner with Oly behind her, but he doesn't fit behind me (which is good since that is the dogs spot). My friends over 6 ft don't fit at all in the passenger seat in that position.

Good thing my Mini Truck has five seatbelts :D

As kids we rode 5 people in an 87 4Runner all over Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, and Washington. Today's modern car seats would certainly be a challenge with the hard top. The soft top, on the other hand, would be ideal for loading/unloading.

Ok everybody! Tomorrow's the day! The RedChili is down for the count right now so look for me in my hodge podge blue '88 Mini.

Remember:

Meet at McDonalds in Idaho Springs at 9:00 am.

Hit the Cascade Creek trail head by 9:30-10:00

Also, we will not be camping due to our rig being down, so just Saturday is all! Hopefully next year works out better.

See everyone there!

It was great seeing everyone out today with all of our mini trucks! The theme song for today could ALMOST have been: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npjF032TDDQ

Next time we need more Tacos to round things out. :D
