And Hackett might open again soon. Since that was one of the first trails I ever saw pictures of on the Rising Sun website, I would love to go do it when it opens!

Anyone have directions on how to get there? 4x4trails.net doesn't have it listed

The 2nd edition of Charles Wells Southern Colorado book has directions in it.

What's the source for buying those books direct? I hear you can get them spiral bound...?

I bought mine through Amazon...cheapest place I could find. I've never seen a spiral-bound version but I would buy one if it was available.

What's Metberry Gulch like? It happens to be right down 24 from me.

EDIT: This site says they are the only ones to offer the spiral-bound version... Funtreks Guide Books

Funtreks is the source. Charles gets more of the cut that way, and yes, the spiral bound version is way handy.

So those who've been to Hacket, Longwater, etc. - do you go to Florrisant, turn north on Hwy 3 and then go from there? Man I was WAY off when I was looking for Hacket without a map...

Kinda down in the same area is a trail called China Wall right? Anybody been there?

state association store has them for sale. best part, is you don't need to worry about shipping since the store manager can deliver to rising sun meetings ;)
