Just incase some of you are wondering.

We only néed the 3 reservations we have secured for the entire group.

When you arrive at the visitors center at Needles, you pay the entrance fee for your vehicle, I forget exactly how much, $10.00 or $15.00..

The visitors center closes at 4:30pm.. We can coordinate with those arriving past that time with those arriving sooner..Also I was going to call and see if they will take a credit card over the phone, as well.

No hurry on this, the reservations were the big thing to secure and we have those.

Just no bottles. :)
Bottles may be fine in a plush ride like yours, but I arrived last year with a fridge full of micro beer OUTSIDE the bottles.
Luckily, some nice fellow campers provided me with beer to cover the weekend. I guess cans have a certain amount of expansion capability that the bottles just don't have....combine that with some high speed whoopdedoos in a 40, and you have a mess!

Yes, that was a real shame. We should have had a memorial for all of those "fallen soldiers". That's what we call empty beer bottles in these parts.

I've had that happen to me before as well. It's usually after you've depleted some of the supplies and the bottles have a chance to move around a bit more. But these days, with cans packing smaller and lighter, and a vast improvement in the beer choices in aluminum cans, I've pretty much gone that route.

The way I drive, I'd be pouring foam even if we stayed on pavement the whole time.

Cans are the ONLY way to go. I've brought glass with me, but it just slowed me down.

Gotta love the Oakland A's!!!! I spent my youth there husseling soda as a vendor after highschool......

"get your ice cold Pepsi"

"Yo, Pepsi, Two"

"3 bucks"

You only got peanuts if you knew someone or were an old timer..

Ahh.. that brings back memories..

Thinking we should consider a pre Maze get together to discuss the route, potential options should roads be bad via weather, etc..

Cover permit questions, parking logistics, Park rules (don't feed or shoot the Caribou)..

Also go over what we all need to bring, looks like we have figured out the most important item on the list...

I am good next week or the week after. I am out of town the first week of October, after that I am good.

There is a place on old South Pearl, called Kaos pizzeria, it is an old house with several rooms and a patio, wood fired pizza oven.. 1439 South Pearl St. It is not loud and I could reserve a room.. If the weather is nice there is also a good sized patio. Also not expensive.

This is right off of I25 at Downing St. exit. So maybe middle of the way for North and Southers?

That's my old stomping grounds. That location has had a lot of different identities - the gelatto shop was my favorite....

I could take a drive down memory lane....

I'll be gone most of October, so, in the next three weeks would be nice. Wood fired pizza, one of my faves!
