Live from the 2022 Baja 1000

Jaos truck came down to electrical issues. Valient effort on their part and tons of work put in. They swapped 2 ecu’s, spark plugs, fuel filters, air filter, and plenty of other things but the truck kept cutting out and loosing power. They learned a lot this year and are going to further develop the truck. The Canguro truck had similar issues when it was first raced back in 09’. Awesome experience getting 14 straight hours co-driving in Monica. All I can say is that truck is incredible and Darren and Kurt are equally incredible drivers. The course is really rough in places with deep silt beds, woops for literal hours at times, and steep crazy hill climbs. We were constantly in aww that the class 11’s can make it through this stuff.

so what happened to jaos? i heard engine/electrical issues. sucks they were out so quick.

That is generally right. Engine for sure. Not suspension or breakage. Baja dustier than Moab, windier than Wyoming, and hotter and colder than Colorado.
