The annual Lefthand Cleanup is a coordinated event between the Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho/Roosevelt National Forest and the recreation community. The Cleanup involves the collection and removal of spent shells and targets at the lower section of the Lefthand 4WD road, and the collection and removal of the trash that is left in the first meadow above the 4WD road entrance. In past years we have removed abandoned vehicles, motorcycles, appliances, and a myriad of items used for target practice.

We welcome anyone who wishes to help clean up this area and put their efforts on the ground. Bring rakes, shovels, and gloves. Pick up trucks are always in demand to haul the filled trash bags down to the dumpster. The major work area is just off of County Road 94 as you start up FDR286 (walking distance). Bring your lunch and come spend the morning with us improving our public lands.

Besides the volunteers that donate their time, Western Disposal donates a large dumpster, delivered and retrieved from the cleanup site, and Honda donates trash bags for collecting the trash. In the past lunch has been donated.

After lunch many of the participants will be enjoying the foothills around the project by hiking, mountain biking, motorcycling, or four wheeling in this multi-use area. Come spend the day.

    Thank you for your help
