Know any good Medicine Bow Wyoming spots?

Hey folks, in a couple weeks I’m looking to rendezvous with a buddy and his family somewhere in the Medicine Bow area. They’ll be en route from Oregon to South Dakota, so the Medicine Bow area is vaguely on the route for them. I’m wondering if y’all might know of a good place to camp for a night or two, preferably up high, and preferably on a river or lake, and preferably dispersed.

I’ve been looking over Gaia and Google Earth, and while there are some interesting looking areas, my pals won’t have time to explore, so I’m just trying to nail something down that they can access in their 4x4 Sprinter.
