is the old email I have for him... but I haven't tried it in over 10 years.

FWIW, I had him rebuild my carb about 12 years ago, and I felt like a got a new rig.

That's what I'm hoping for. I'm a month or so out from swapping this 2F into my rig & feel like this is the time to get her setup.

Remember, it can take up to 3-4 months to get your carb back from him. It's worth the wait though.

If you can't raise Jim, Bill Lee in Silver City NM is a Toyota Master Tech and rebuilt my carb, among many other things. Excellent craftsman and an expert on FJ-40s. My 40 runs great at 13,000 feet, no vapor locks, no stumbles, just smooth and swift!

Here is his email - billstoyshop@gmail.com

fj40jim@gmail.com is current as of May this year. It often takes him a bit to respond though.

Good to see updated contact info for Jim - I didn't think anyone had aol emails anymore!

Jim rebuilt my carb and dizzy.

Also cool to know about Bill Lee, never heard of him before.

Mark Algazy is an option on the west coast for carb rebuilds. I look for his contact info and post up.

X2 - I have had Jim rebuild 2 of my carbs and have never had Mark rebuild one for me, but Mark has an excellent reputation, and I have met him personally and wheeled with him. I would trust Mark to do an excellent job.

That's Jim. If you want it done quickly you're better off to just do it yourself or you might try other places like cruiserparts.net, and I also have heard of other shops around here and there that have a faster turnaround. But who knows their reputation. I think Jim's backlog is about 3 months typically.
