@DanielChase I've had a pile of unclaimed money out there for years. I've pinged this website and it shows up. I did it again just now and it's still there. It was a car wreck in 2005 and the two insurance companies went to court for years over it. I stopped caring but eventually they must have found in favor of my insurance company and some of the money was assigned to me. Every single one of these places wants my social security number though. No thanks.

Yeah try being named Christopher Smith....even narrowing it down to texas it's still over 1k....

The CO Department of Treasury website links to the Colorado Unclaimed Property Website. If you're feeling a little skiddish about the above method, it's an option. I've used it before to get $25 from Wells Fargo. It's secure, but any data you put into the interwebs can be vulnerable one way or another. (Whether malicious or well intentioned.)
The site Chase listed routes to the same CO unclaimed property website. I'd say it's solid.
