How about the front and rear Pioneers mentioned in this thread

http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=163991

x2 on the above :thumb:. Although there is mention on MUD that they don't mount up right in a LX but do in a LC

How much would one of these go for: Infinity 6000M

Looks maybe one could mount that up horizontally to a FJ40 roll bar and have some pretty decent sound like the sound bars they sell for Jeeps.

Congrats on getting the MBA and new job! That rocks :)

I would be in for rears (doors) for my 80. They are the only stock ones I have still. (Alpine head unit)

Thank Colorado80 (Q) for setting me up and helping with the install. I went with the Infiniti Speakers and described the install in this thread.

I made the decision after those with 97's had problems installing the Pioneers and after another Lexus owner e-mailed me and said they were not a big difference. Found out why, the stock Lexus speakers were Pioneers of real good quality. These Infiniti's blow them away and I am real happy. Thanks Q again for hooking me up and helping with the install.

I agree with Trevor and like Pioneer decks, but I am now convinced Infiniti makes better speakers.

Guys, I have good news and bad. The bad news is that my 2 weeks notice was considered by the company as served and I am not working there any longer. The good news is they paid me for the two weeks in advance. The other good news however for you guys is this, that I can still get my discount on some things. While I was picking up Romer's stuff, I went and put in an order for some of the stuff you guys had asked for. Just as a precaution I also ordered 15 pairs of front speakers and 15 pairs of rear speakers for whoever needs them.

Other things that I added were:

SROR: Marine speakers 6.5"
Uncle Ben: Marine Speakers 6.5"
acon40: I couldn't get my hands on anything (decks)
nakman: I can get the pioneers if you want, but ask Romer about the Infinities
Corsair23: 6000m I can get, but it is on backorder. I have saved you a place in the backorder line but it is not going to be available till 8/13.
Inukshuk: I will set aside a pair for you.

All of these things you guys asked for I will receive hopefully by next week. They didn't have all of these things at the store so I just got them ordered from the Car Toys warehouse in Seattle, WA. Just in case you guys don't want these, I can just return them so it's no cost to me. I just thought I may as well be safe rather than sorry. So, if anyone needs anything please let me know "fast".

Guys the price for the ones that I ordered are 6.5" shallow mount for the front is $60 and the 4" rear is $60.

PM me if you guys have questions.

Count me in for 4 speakers for my LX450...whatever is decided is best. :)

Timm

I'll call you tomorrow.

I have two LX450s with the stock setups. My daughter has an Ipod and I have a pocket PC, we both use the cassette adapter

and a 99 4 runner with a new Sony head unit. I was amazed at the sound of the new headunit. Sony use to be crap but they have improved. I personally like Pioneers.

OK, if you can get the Infinities, awesome. If not, oh well. :)

Romer, how many cigars and beers to help install them in my LX? :D

I haven't installed the Pioneers yet and could take them back to Best Buy. Can I use my stock speaker grilles with the Infiniti's?

They don't work on the infinities. You have to use their grill. This was based on our decision to install them on the outside of the door panel as that looked like the best solution. You could play with it and see if you can come up with another way.

Tim - I would be glad to help.

I'm in for a set of fronts and a set of rears. Or maybe two sets of fronts - pretty sure all of mine are 6.5"-6.75" in the 100. No 4".

Which ones did you order???

thanks

I used the 6.5" Alpine co's in the front doors and the 4" Pioneers in the rear doors. Any of the entry level 6.5's should fit the front and I'm guessing the same goes for the 4" in the rear.

Ken, those look great. I'll have to take a picture of my Sony Xplod speakers in the front -- they are way more teenage ricer bling than the Infinity speakers.

Guys I have more than enough (hopefully); I ordered 15 pairs. So far I have down (no specific order):
Inukshuk (rear)
acon40 (front and rear)
timmbuck2 (front and rear)
LEXUSBEN (front and rear): FYI your front and rears are both 6.5" approx. so a 6.5" speaker will fit into a 6.75" hole.

If anyone else needs to get these please let me know.

Corsair23: 6000m I can get, but it is on backorder. I have saved you a place in the backorder line but it is not going to be available till 8/13.

Just noticed the MSRP of that 6000M on the website...$700

You can release my spot on the backorder list for that :( - unless of course with your employee discount it is like 1/3 of that price ;)

HOWEVER, if you can still get the Infinitys for my LX that Romer got I'd be in for a full set (fronts and rears) :thumb:

Let me know and THANKS for putting this all together for us. Lot of work on your part that is greatly appreciated!!
