Well that's 2 quarters down. I did better this time than my 1st quarter. I got 2 high A's, a mid B and a high C. My C was in anatomy and physiology. That class is hard and my grade might change to a low B. He normally curves the midterms and final.

I have one more final tomorrow and I should get 100 on that..

10 more quarters to go...

Well, I didn't update in 12 weeks like I said but I'll do it now.

So, I have just completed 1 year of nursing school, 4 quarters down 8 more to go, ⅓ of the way done.

I've been doing pretty well, I'm rocking a 3.3 GPA which is pretty great for me, considering I've always been a C D student.

I just finished with pathophysiology with lab, advance principles of patient centered care with lab, and pharmacology. Pharmacology was the hardest class and somehow it was my best grade.

Everyone says that quarter 4 is one of the hardest quarters, if not the hardest and it honestly wasn't to bad. I have chemistry, med surg 1, pysch and something else next quarter. Just going to keep on trucking on.

I also got a job at Denver Health in the NICU as a clerk. I'm pretty sure I want to be a NICU nurse and this gets my foot in the door.

Cheers,
Angelo

My best friend growing up, from the age of 8 years old until today, his mom was a NICU nurse and is now the head NP of a NICU ward at a hospital, pretty much #2 behind the head doc. It seems like a pretty special line of work, saving preemies, and she always had cool stories. Congrats man and stick with it.

UPDATE, for those wondering.

I now have officially completed two years of school, with one year left. I've taken 160 credit hours (still don't know what the hell this means). I am currently sitting at a 3.2 GPA. So, down 0.1 from last year. supposedly this last year should be a breeze. 4 more quarters to go, with my last quarter being my Capstone.

I went into nursing school with zero college and zero transfer credit. This is an accelerated 3 year BSN program with all prereqs courses spread out over the 3 years. 11 weeks of class, with 1 week off, then you start again. With breaks for thanksgiving, Christmas, and new years.

I've noticed my care of online classes has hit rock bottom and I do not care about any online class. They are all gen ed courses. and I just do not care about posting or replying to at least 3 people. I'll do the post, but most times, I will not reply to others posts. I'll rock the papers and test though. Online classes can suck a big ol weenie.

I still want to work in the NICU, but I want to get in with the VA. I learned that my years of military service can count towards retirement. This means that I can retire at the age of 52, if I want. If I get into the VA, I don't care to much on where I work, just as long as I get in.

My school also got sold, so I am no longer a Platt College student and will now be going to Concordia St. Paul University. They are a Christian university in St. Paul, Minnesota. They say that nothing will change but we will see what happens.

I'm going into OB in January and some other online classes. If I can figure out this whole school being bought out and now I have to go through crazy hoops with both schools and the VA to keep my payments up so I can continue to go to school thing out.

being 2/3rds of the way done with nursing school is odd. I don't feel like I've done much school. I still feel like I don't know anything about anything when it comes to nursing.

That's all I got for now.

Cheers,
Angelo
