Do not stay at an I70 hotel and think you are safe. Target rich environment for thieves especially on the weekends. Many moons ago we had all our stuff stolen (we were moving) along with my truck. I now ask the night clerks if I can park outside the front door where they can see it and usually they are cool with it.
If you want to come farther west, you are welcome to park at my house and I’ll run you to a hotel…but I am about 3 hours farther west.

Our first apartment together was at 53rd and Allison. South of olde town and the water tower didn't scream "What we need is a Hilton" back in the 1990s. We bought our first house west of there, 52nd and Ward. Back when the Jolly Rancher plant was still there. They had a little factory store and we'd come back with candy by the pound for next to nothing because it was mistakes like watermelon in a cinnamon wrapper. But man, the smell was awesome until they tore it down. :-(

I was so disappointed when they closed that factory down! When I worked at 38th and Youngfield in the 1980s, in the winter you could see the steam coming off their chimney on winter mornings.

since someone recommended 104/church ranch which has a decent group of hotels there, it got me thinking…

A little bit further away from i70, I wouldn’t have any hesitation staying at this hotel in broomfield. Right Nextdoor was the Walmart I visited when I lived in a close by neighborhood(countryside) and only just moved away 1-1/2 years ago.

we live right around church ranch and 36, its a nice area but there are still alot of car breakins and thefts over here since we are so close to the freeway.... i mean just about all of Denver is bad though compared to other cities I've lived in

Yup that’s in part why I was thinking over by the mall/walmart could work. Still, not ideal by any means.

Overlandy built 200 owner here that lives in the heart of Denver. People aren't really targeting the 200s with a bunch of gear on it to steal stuff off of or out of IMHO. I live 12 blocks off of I-70 for reference. They are looking for a trailer full of a families belongings to steal or Cats off mid 90s to 2000s Toyotas and Hondas. You could also stay at the Hilton downtown with that height, they will park it right outside the front door because it doesn't fit in the garage. Pic for reference.

He posted on page 1 that he has found a place, but great suggestion - that's my stomping grounds for another month and a half.

A little late to the discussion but I stayed here and felt very secure leaving my built truck in the lot. It's dog friendly too. Just avoid concert nights for better pricing.

I think Downtown Golden would be good.

The Table Mountain Inn is nice
If they are out of rooms the Golden Hotel would be next.
Both are local hotels and right in downtown. I park my cars in Golden often and really have no trouble.
This way not on I70 and both are smaller hotels in amongst all the dining and everything in Golden.
