Has anyone seen a GMRS mobile radio with a detachable faceplate?

I'm specifically looking for that versus a unit that has the controls in the microphone or a more traditional integrated faceplate/body.

Or alternatively does anyone have photos of the guts of any of the Midland mobile GMRS radios? I suppose if the connections between the faceplate and the rest of the unit aren't too complex, it could be turned into a removeable faceplate...

I'm wanting to install just the faceplate on the mounting rail above my infotainment unit in my 3rd gen Taco.

The Wouxun KG-1000G has a detachable front panel. Probably others out there, too.

Ross nailed it, the KG-1000G is the only current one AFAIK. It's a GMRS radio, ready to go out of the gate.

If you want to search out older grandfathered dual listed GMRS/commercial radios, most of them had separation kits. It looks like you've asked this before, too.

Only a professionally curious question. When the gmrs functions are all in the mic, why a faceplate? Just preference?

Yup it's a preference. I like to be able to look at the face plate and make adjustments when I'm using the mic.
