Perry, would it be possible to get an updated list of who is on the "in' list and who is on the waiting list and their order? I'm trying to plan my summer and if I'm on the bubble then I'll make sure to leave it open, if I'm 10th on the list then I know it's probably not going to happen and I'll look forward to next year.

Thanks!!

Erik. Here is my current list of folks. I've asked Travis to take over leading the run. If I can make it, and have a open seat, I will be there. The list is a bit over my original limit size but I'm sure we can make it work.

Steve H
Ben B
Linn
Cheeseman
Krice118
Justin M
Simpson
Old Treeroot
Young Treeroot
Rezarf
Adam Farmer
DaninDenver
Ridindirty

So any folks that want to go after this posting will be on a waiting list. Hopefully, that's ok with Travis.

Really excited to take a shot at this - would love to know more about the trip itself (what you guys suggest we bring, things to know, etc.) as we're newbies. :)

If the list opens up I would be interested, possibly one or both the daughters of Romer. Would the trailer work on this trip?

Well I screwed up and missed the meeting Wednesday. Were there any updates on this trip? It's coming up real fast.

Looking forward to this one...

Has there been any more developments on this run? Trying to pack a little as I travel for work next week and have a short turn around between my trip and this run. Thanks! No pressure just curious.

We'll likely be camping so there's that list to pack.

I'd recommend bringing the following:
  • Good attitude, willingness to be flexible (no grumpy people on the trail except for Uncle Ben and Ige :lmao:)
  • Trail communication, HAM or CB that works.
  • Recover gear, including front and rear recovery points. Strap, shackles, spare tire, jack etc.
  • First aid kit, personal meds, allergy meds etc.
  • Camping gear. Tent, sleeping gear, cooking gear, chair table, firewood etc.
  • I bring a tarp for trail repairs or avoiding sitting in the muck, shelter etc.
  • Water/container for your people and critters.
  • High country clothes (cold at night)
  • The newbies need to bring copious amounts of smoked BBQ meat and craft adult beverages. :thumb:

Hey all,

Sorry for not being on here much. Work is keeping me busy. Travis and have been trying to meet up, again busy for both.

So here is my thought regarding the Ghost Town Run weekend coming up. The plan is to start in Coaldale, Co. on the east side of the Sangre De Christo's (Blood of Christ Mountains). It's about a two hour and 45 min drive from Denver per google maps. I'd like for the Group to meet up in Coaldale ( South of Salida on hwy 50) 8:45-9am Saturday the 22nd. Early I know, but this gives us a good start to the day.

Saturday's Plan: From Coaldale, we'll head West into The Sangre de Christo's via Hayden Pass. This will put us out in the San Luise Valley at Villa Grove. Will take a detour to Saguache for Gas. Then back north to make our way into Bonanza. There are numerous trails around Bonanza with a plethora of mining history. After exploring around Bonanza for the afternoon, we'll set up camp.
Please bare with Travis and I. This is a new area to me and so camps are not that well known. We may have to split into two groups to make things work. hopefully we'll get lucky and find a nice wide camp spot:cool:.
Sunday: The plan is to explore more around Bonanza before the long drive back to Denver.

Most of the trails are fairly easy, just scenic with lots of mining history.

Being in the high country, warmer gear, lots of water and the usual summer camping equipment.

My rig is not ready yet for leading runs so will be riding along with Root hopefully (waiting to hear back).

Should be a great weekend!

Mind company? I could meet up with you guys before you head out to camp, or if you have coordinates for a spot I could meet you there.

Hate to do this so late, but we're going to have to bow out of the trip. :( Many (good) big things happening in our world and I just can't escape for the whole weekend right now unfortunately. Hope you all have a safe & fun trip!

I'm going to have to bail out, due to a family situation that came up. Trying to get out with my brother and his son to go camping, and this weekend won't work for both of them. I will await the trip report to see how it went!

krice118 (Kyle) and I are going to head up Friday around 2-3 and camp at this great spot on Tin Cup pass I know of. It could easily fit up to 9 cruisers. If anyone wants to join us the more the merrier. Welcome aboard Dan, looks like Kyle has your number.

Here's the camping spot: https://goo.gl/maps/dsgwJL8HbWT2

If it's taken we'll find something nearby that spot, you can see almost all of the camping areas from the road so it will be easy to find the cruisers or we'll mark something obvious.

Also, if we want to play Friday evening we could off road up the Mt Antero trail, there's a fun difficult section that goes up to Baldwin Lake.
