Have you guys considered using UHMW and 80/20 for a slide project? You can mount the 80/20 to the platform and then run the slide part on the panel that moves out. No rattles, no dust problems, no locks needed, and your wallet is now considerably lighter for the priv.
The glide profile by the inch: https://8020.net/shop/6808.html
Then just pick an aluminum extrusion profile for whatever you plan to do.
This is how the KISS drawers are done. Everyone claims that they work well, but I do believe that you would have a lower weight limit that with a traditional bearing slide system.

I like the idea of the UHMW and 80/20 slides. I'll have to do some reading on those KISS drawers and see if anyone has tried to make a telescoping fridge slide with it.

The KISS drawers are a lot like what I'm talking about, but I think he missed an opportunity with having the 80/20 sub frame. Ideally, part of the extrusion would be directly accessible from the platform for tie downs. Think A-track or L-track extrusion. Let me try to describe another way...rather than a single sheet of baltic birch over the entire platform, split the platform into thirds such that the two 80/20 "trusses" pop up through the main deck, but remain flush. That means when your bed isn't on the platform (assuming its a sleeping platform) you can pop in various D rings to tie down your junk.
