I used to flat tow my 4Runner for many years. I pulled the rear driveshaft, t-case and tranny in neutral, key in ignition to unlock steering wheel, some mag lites for the rear. Make sure the hitch is above the attachment point on the 60 if you can. And yes allow more distance from other vehicles.
