FJ80 '91 engine stalls

Hi,
My FJ80 '91 engine stalls in reverse like the idle is set to low.
I noticed when it does this the oil gage drops.

Now this morning in the cold weather my wife Beth was freeking out as the engine was stalliing a lot as she was trying to drop the kids off at the bus.

Is idle, when the engine is fully warmed up, at the recommended 650rpm +/- 50? Tell us more about the general condition of the engine, i.e. last tune up, mileage of the truck, etc.
