I have been prepping one of these and after removing a PO's blue topcoat and getting back to the original white I still have a interesting spiderweb/crop circle pattern that goes beyond the the paint, into the surface of the fiberglass. I'm not an expert on f/g repair, should I spot fill and shoot with a primer/sealer or will the cracks reappear?

TIA

Most likely it is an impact break and the gelcoat is the only part that is truly cracked. This happens because the gelcoat is a hard coating that will not flex. The fiberglass does flex and with impacts the gelcoat spider cracks. You should sand down the gelcoat to the mat and recoat. You can use a brush to apply the gelcoat then sand down to a uniform coating. If you just prime, the cracks may or may not stop. Over time gelcoat cracks can lead to delamination where the gel lifts of the mat. Fix it right this time, and never worry again.
