Saw something new to me yesterday. Was walking in south Boulder when a car pulled over just in front of me, was stopping to drop off someone. It was a Porsche Taycan. Never seen one before, pretty cool looking car. The custom license plate read "600volts". Hmm, Porsche makes an electric? No visible exhaust pipes in back, yep, must be an electric. Then why is it making a idling engine noise?
When I got home, I had to look it up:

Yep, fake engine noise. I guess if you spend $100k+ on a Porsche, you want it to sound like a Porsche. It has an off switch for when you want to join the 21st century.

Even the All-Electric Porsche Taycan Has Fake Motor Noise Enhancement
Porsche Electric Sport Sound augments the noise emanating from the car's nearly-silent electric motors.
